25 August 2025 – MARA Corporation remains committed to upholding compliance with national laws and standards. A dedicated training session was recently organised by the Group Information Technology, featuring a comprehensive briefing by En. Mohamad Azrul Azmi, Deputy Director of the Personal Data Protection Division, Department of Personal Data Protection (JPDP). The session aimed to deepen employees’ understanding of the latest amendments to the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010 (Act 709), which came into force in June 2025.

The session focused on key areas including the seven principles of Personal Data Protection, three Personal Data Protection standard, appointment of Data Protection Officers (DPOs), Data Breach Notification (DBN) protocols, compliance matrix mapping and Act 709, documentation and record management, as well as strengthening overall data governance. Participants were equipped with practical knowledge to manage, protect, and safeguard personal data effectively in daily operations.

This initiative not only reinforces MARA Corporation Group’s data governance practices but also reduces legal and reputational risks by cultivating a strong culture of data protection across the organisation.
